So I must admit...last night's episode of American Idol had some amazing performances and it is going to be hard to say goodbye to one of them. However, the person who does go home can leave with their head high...they made Top 9 on American Idol and they left on a positive note after a great performance.
As I said in my recap last night, the show was full of music...from the Top 9 performances to trio performances from the Top 9 as well. Jessica Sanchez...awesome, Phillip Phillips...amazing, Colton Dixon...great, Elise Testone...flawless and Heejun Han...heartfelt. The singers had five standing ovations from the judges, DeAndre Brackensick and Heejun were told that they were back after some lackluster performances. It seemed to be a night of perfection, but alas, they all can't move on...or will the judges use their save tonight?
Based on my predictions, the judges will not be using their save tonight...they're saving it for someone (not sure who...maybe Elise?), but if they didn't use it for Erika Van Pelt last week, they won't use it this week. My picks for bottom three: Joshua Ledet (he took on Mariah Carey...enough said), Hollie Cavanagh (she took on Carrie Underwood...enough said) and DeAndre Brackensick (much better, but I still can't get into his voice). Hollie and Joshua are both shockers to be in the bottom three, but they didn't do great on songs that are so well known...decent won't cut it on a night like last night. Ryan Seacrest will send Hollie back right away, so we will have Joshua and DeAndre in the bottom two. After the dreaded commercial break, we will find out that Joshua is safe and DeAndre is in danger of going home. He'll sing for his life and even though Jennifer Lopez loves his unique voice it is the end of the road for him. Do you agree or do you think I am crazy?
