Wedding Day Gone Wrong

On the most special day of your life, you would think you would make it to the end of the night and get to spend the night together as husband and wife. Not in this case. In Rio De Janeiro, a bridegroom fatally shot his new wife, his best man and then himself after announcing to horrified guests that he had a "surprise" for them. What a surprise for the guest, that's for sure. Police investigator Joao Brito would not speculate on a possible motive, saying family members were in shock and he had not interviewed them yet.

Facebook founder and cheif executive Mark Zuckerberg has been named Time magazine's 2010 person of the year. At 26, he is one of the world's youngest billionaires and is the youngest winner since Charles Lindbergh was named the first winner in 1927.

Zuckerberg started the website in 2004, but in 2010 it surpassed over 500 million users, or 1 in every 10 people on the planet. Crazy! Is he deserving of person of the year though....what do you think?

A Cure For HIV??

Doctors believe an HIV-positive man who underwent a stem cell transplant has been cured as a result of the procedure. Timothy Ray Brown, also known as the "Berlin Patient," received the transplant in 2007 as part of a lengthy treatment course for leukemia. His doctors recently published a report in the journal Blood affirming that the results of extensive testing "strongly suggest that cure of HIV infection has been achieved."

Brown's case paves a path for constructing a permanent cure for HIV through genetically-engineered stem cells. This would be an amazing thing and could help so many people.

Pentagon Report Says Gays No Harm

The Pentagon's top leaders declared in a report released on Tuesday that gay troops can serve openly in the armed forces without harming the military's ability to fight. The study called for the 17-year-old "don't ask, don't tell" ban to be scrapped and pointed to a new survey that showed most troops wouldn't mind. Note to political leaders: Let's listen to the survey of troops actually serving in the armed forces and move into the year 2010 please and get rid of this ridiculous law. Thanks!

Civil Unions Bill Passes Illinois State House

On Tuesday, the Illinois House of Representatives passed SB1716, the "Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act." The historic civil unions bill passed on a vote of 61-52 and the legislation now moves to the state Senate, where it is expected to be passed quickly and signed into law by Gov. Pat Quinn. Way to go Illinois.....now let's just get the rest of the states to join in!

I have never been a big fan of the show, but with Bristol Palin somehow being in the finals, I am glad to announce that Jennifer Grey and her partner Derek Hough have won season 11 of DWTS. She still looks good, even at 50. Congrats!

'Sarah Palin's Alaska" Sucks It Up In Week 2

"Sarah Palin's Alaska" set a TLC ratings record when it debuted to 5 million viewers last week, but the second episode showed a huge drop-off in viewership. Episode two of the Palin reality show averaged just 3 million viewers, down 40% from the previous week. This makes me smile on the outside and inside!!! To top it off too, the median age of the show's viewers is 57 years old. Just the old, crazy Tea Party followers left around supporting the psycho. Let's hope they cancel it before too long.

LaughFest Coming To Grand Rapids

In what should be an amazing event, Gilda's Club of Grand Rapids, named for the late comedian Gilda Radner, is creating the nation's first communitywide festival focused on humor with performances, shows and films, plus a community talent showcase, in as many as 25 locations in town. Some entertainers coming to town beginning March 10th for the event include Betty White, Bill Cosby and Kathleen Madigan. I'm very excited for this and can't wait for more details.

Truly Inspiring

A mother had to defend her five-year-old son's choice to go as Daphne from Scooby Doo for Halloween. What she writes is truly inspiring and made me cry. I loved the, "I am not worried that your son will grow up to be an actual ninja so back off" and the ending made me cry, but duh. The kid is a total cutie and it is Halloween, a chance for one and all to dress up and be someone for a day/night. The kid is five and wants to explore things and those mothers that ridiculed this mother for letting him dress this way, shame on them. I hope their kids grow up to be fine living in a house full of shame and hatred.

This Is Why I Hate Walmart

The 2500 workers at the Anowara Apparels factory in Bangladesh spend all day sewing jeans, primarily for the Faded Glory brand of clothes sold at Walmart. They are 90% young women, some with families to support and others trying to simply scrape a living together. The women make between 11 and 17 cents an hour sewing jeans, and they're expected to produce at least ten pairs an hour. That means they make less than two pennies for each pair of jeans they sew.

To make matters worse, Walmart has been lobbying against a government-supported wage increase, which would bump the workers up to 35 cents an hour. They can't pay the workers who sew the jeans they sell in the store 35 cents an hour??? Stop shopping there people!!!!

An Arkansas School Board member recently launched an inflammatory anti-gay tirade on Facebook that ran the gamut from basic bigoted slurs, to encouraging "fags" to commit suicide and announcing that he'd disown his own children if they were gay.

How do people like this get elected? People in elected offices are adding to the flames for these teens that are being bullied and feel the only answer to their problems is suicide. This man needs to be removed from office and removed from our country!!!

Comedian Greg Giraldo, best known for his appearances on the roasts on Comedy Central and for being a judge on Last Comic Standing, passed away today after an accidental drug overdose this past weekend. Another sad day for comics everywhere....losing another one at a young age!

The bitch just couldn't keep it together and failed her drug screen last week. Lindsay appeared in front of the judge today and the judge put her in jail until Oct. 22, her next appearance for the probation violation. Now Lindsay's attorney is filing an appeal because Lindsay was "unlawfully denied bail." Sorry honey, but you are still on probation for a DUI that took place 3 years ago. You tested positive for cocaine after you were so amazing in your short stint in jail and rehab. Bitch needs to stay in jail until that hearing and then for a long time after. Get it together girl!

Paris Hilton, who pled guilty Monday to two misdemeanor charges for her cocaine case, was trying to be a jetsetter and head out to Japan on a "business trip" re a was planned months ago. Immigration officials in Tokyo stopped her and are considering refusing to let Hilton into the country based on her drug charges and sentencing. This is amazing! When I was on probation, I was not even allowed to leave the damn city I was in, let alone fly off a day later to another country. Even though we don't want her back, the bitch should be in the U.S. I wish I were a celebrity to get this kind of treatment in life!

Impeach California Judge That Overturned Prop 8???

The American Family Association is calling for the impeachment of Judge Vaughn Walker, the federal judge from California who overturned Proposition 8 as unconstitutional.

I find it funny that if he would have ruled that Prop. 8 stands as is, he would have been a hero, but since he ruled it was unconstitutional there was no way the case should have even made it in his courtroom. These crazy, Christians are just that.....crazy!

A couple more hurdles to overcome, but a federal judge in California ruled today that Proposition 8, the voter approved ballot measure that banned same-sex marriages, is unconstitutional to gays and lesbians to marry the partners of their choice.

This announcement will likely be appealed to the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and then up to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Bring it on....looks like we have some people in the judicial system that believe in equality, unlike the voters in California!!!

Michigan voters spoke today and they chose Democratic Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero to face-off against Republican businessman Rick "One Tough Nerd" Snyder.

I can't believe Republicans chose a guy who has never run for political office and ran his campaign as "one tough nerd" to be their chance to take the capitol back over.

French Mother Admits To Suffocating Eight Newborn Babies

Dominique Cottrez, a 45-year-old French nursing assistant, admitted today of suffocating eight newborn babies because she did not want more children and wished to avoid seeing a doctor for contraception, a prosecutor said.

You've got to be kidding me, right? Because the lazy, fat bitch didn't want to go see a doctor, let me remind you she is a nursing assistant, she decides to continue to have sex and get pregnant and then just pop them out and kill them.

No More Ellen On Idol

American Idol is out two judges now. Ellen DeGeneres will end her run as a judge after only one season.

Ellen announced in a statement, "A couple months ago, I let Fox and the 'American Idol' producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me." While she "loved discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings."

Throw in the fact that Kara DioGuardi isn't under contract for next year, as of right now, so there could be some major changes coming next fall.

The gays are one of the biggest supporters and employees of Target, yet the store has gone and made a $150,000 donation to a campaign fund in Minnesota for a candidate that is anti-gay?

This doesn't seem right and you know the gays are on this shit. Many boycotts are being held and Facebook groups started to never shop at Target again until the donation is taken back. I am interested to see where this will go.

Lobbying To End Ban on Gay Men Donating Blood

As of now, a man that has had sex with another man since 1977 is banned for life the right to help out his country and donate blood. As of now, a man that has used IV drugs or has had sex with a HIV-positive woman or multiple sex partners can help his country and donate blood. Does this seem right or fair?

However crazy this may seem, an advisory committee to the Department of Health and Human Services voted 9 to 6 earlier this month to retain a ban that has been in place more than 20 years.

Just because we are having sex does not mean we have HIV or AIDS....most are safer then the drug-using whore down the street that can go donate her blood (and probably do it for cash). Let's figure it out people!

The longest tennis match in Grand Slam history has just ended. It took 11 hours and five minutes over three days of play, but John Isner of the United States has defeated Nicolas Mahut of France 6-4, 3-6, 7-6, 6-7, 70-68 in the first round of Wimbledon! That's right folks, 70-68 in the last game.

This is just insane....like Isner is going to have energy to do anything in the next round....good luck to him!
